   Ummm A National Day of (Christian) Prayer?? “Congress passes a specific statute, a LAW?” WAIT A SECOND!!! Isn’t there something about “Separation of Church and State?”

   Now if Gov. Perry (Or Congress in 1952) was a Muslim, Buddhist, Jew, or any other religion other than Christian he and Congress would be laughed out of office. But since Perry’s a “Christian,” it’s perfect okay to do. Hmmm there’s something wrong about that kind of thinking. Something most Christian simply can’t comprehend

   he is paid to govern, now if he tries to enforce laws which are religiously motivated but not able to be defended on secular grounds that is different, so far he has not done that and he is free to make himself look like a arrogant bible thumper so long as he isn’t derelict in his governing duties.

    Eh..ya they don’t have a case at all (the atheist dude) if public funds were being used I could possibly see a case of government endorsement of religion.
    Such as public funds being used to rent out a stadium or something.
    But they are not, though he does have a point that religion is used as a cover for incompetence, it has nothing to do with law.

    Silverman could’ve taken it from a different angle that may have been considered “conservative”, but is actually more libertarian. He could’ve said that just like the government has no right to use the taxpayers’ money to fund alternative sexual lifestyles with birth control and abortion against the majority’s will, they have no right to use the taxpayers’ money to fund a religious event against the will of a minority. Silverman probably believes in funding birth control and abortion however.
